The world has gone absolutely bonkers for delicious and nutritious foods. Absolutely bonkers. Thankfully, you managed to get onto the bandwagon and at just the right time and with just the right foodie-product, which is why you’ve been enjoying some serious sales at the local Farmer’s Market. You’ve always got a queue to your stall and you’re always folding away your gazebo before everyone else. You’ve even managed to get a couple of your local grocery stores to stock your products on a shelf. One of them has even dedicated a little room to your growing brand. It’s amazing.

 

But now you’re faced with a rather unique problem: do you try and grow beyond what you have and, if yes, how do you do that?

 

Well, the answer is getting creative. You’re not big enough to throw a million bucks at the answer but you know you want to make this your full-time gig. So, without further ado, here are some amazing ways to start growing your food-company into the realms of success-ville:

When you’re still smallish, like you are, one of the best things you can do to get your product and brand in front of more hungry eyes is to take it to a festival or a fair. Go somewhere food is loved and cherished, somewhere you can still interact with your customers, present your infectious passion, tell them what’s in it and, best of all, do some market research. There are so many festivals and fairs you can attend and all you really need is a standout display to grab people’s attention. So many great brands have built their success on the back of shows.

 

  1. Get It Into An Independent Supermarket

This is the dream, right? Getting your product onto the shelves of a retail giant that has thousands of stores across the country. But this is no easy feat. Not just to get in there, but to scale up to manage this kind of demand. Our advice would be to inch your way there. If there is an independent store that’s big in an area, try getting it in there, whether that means looking into reefer trucking to get it across country safely or dropping it off at your local store yourself. Building a recognizable food brand requires baby steps like this. It will let you grow steadily and not ruin your business by growing too quickly.

 

  1. Sell Your Products Online

There’s no better way to get your food in front of the world than to sell it online. To really build your brand, you’ll want to sell on your website and hire a creative copywriter to bring your website to life. You can then start a blog and offer people recipe advice, cooking tips, and all sorts. Don’t forget to show off your delicious foods on Instagram too – that’s where people salivate most. But don’t limit your online presence to just that. Get your product onto other food-loving ecommerce stores too.

 

Growing a food brand is different from other businesses. It’s more personal. It’s more fragile. But it’s totally possible, and it will feel amazing when you pull it off.
